Welcome!

So for those stumbling in here for the first time or sent here via a link, I'm Tyler and this is my blog for teaching my players the Pathfinder gaming system and my houserules modifying it, and the rules to everyone else who might be interested. I'll probably be modifying this piece as I codify the greater visual key to show off what posts are what but for now, I hope you enjoy the content and that I hear from everyone who is interested.

 So, I've been following Far Distant Futures since their Doomed Denizen book, arguably one of my favorite new books in the 3rd party 1st ed space that I wasn't working on. Bryan's attention to interesting and novel new mechanics for ancestries that define them through what you can do with them without over powering them has been a standout of his design style, and his recycling of the action symbols idea from 2nd back into 1st is a perfect update from that system back to ours, and alongside his commitment to no AI art, has had me constantly coming back for more. And with each one of these I've picked up, the more I've started to learn that, when FDF decides to do ancestries, it's definitely worth it to pick up a copy. Pathfinder Epilogue, The Best of the 3rd Party pt. 1: The Weird, Niche, and Wonderful

So, with Pathfinder 1st edition coming to a close I think it's time to take a look back on some of the best stuff to come out of the 3rd party stable over the last 10 years. The list of books that has come out in the last few years alone has been truly staggering and as Paizo lays 1st ed to rest and players and GMs look to snap up 3rd party content to fill the void I've compiled this... "small" list of content to help out. So whether you are a GM looking to fill that aforementioned void of new content for your old system or a group looking to add some great weird or unseen content to your game while you wait for 2nd ed to catch your fancy or whatever check this out. Ability Scores: A Description

As stated previously, Ability Scores are broken down into 6 categories that represent the various physical and mental powers of your character and every other creature throughout the game. Now, I know some people can get confused by these so I feel like it's best to go over each one to get everyone up to speed and working from the same definition of each of these going forward. I cannot tell you the number of times I have seen problems at table come about because 2 people have differing definitions of what Ability X is supposed to cover. So, without further adieu, lets get into it. Physical vs. Mental:  Each character has 6 Abilities that can be broken down into 2 groups Physical and Mental.
